wait longer when keying stops in mid-entry - HOW?

I've created a CallButler-based community service for the visually impaired. It works fine, but for one issue that I still need to sort out. A lot of callers have problem keying longer strings of digits. When they stop in mid-entry, looking for the next key to press, they get rejected (the command is not recognised). How can I make the system wait at minimum 3 seconds before timing out between digits?

UPDATE: this issue was addressed in Version 1.9.16. You can now adjust the DTMF timeout in the settings file.
